I provide individual, couples, and family therapy. I can help with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment, stress, relationships, trauma/PTSD, family conflict, parenting, self-esteem, anger/aggression, grief and loss, divorce, life transitions and many other presenting concerns.
I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space to express and work through the emotional issues or challenging experiences that are holding you back, in a way that will promote positive growth, healing, and change. If you are feeling stuck, I can help you find a way to move forward at a pace that is comfortable to you. I recognize the beauty, wholeness, and capacity for growth in every individual, and will work collaboratively with you to reach your goals.
I work from a cognitive-behavioral approach, as well as an insight-oriented approach. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has to do with identifying thinking patterns and interpretations that contribute to feelings of anxiety, anger, or depression, and challenging and replacing them with positive, realistic, and empowering thoughts and beliefs that will help you cope more effectively with stressors. Insight-oriented therapy has to do with making connections between negative early life experiences, and the faulty negative core beliefs that you develop as a result of trying to make sense of those experiences, and understanding how those negative beliefs impact your current functioning in unhealthy ways. I also incorporate coping skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills into my work. I develop a treatment plan with each client at the start of treatment with goals that you help will identify. I then will review the treatment plan with you every 6-12 months to discuss your progress and identify what you want to focus on moving forward.
Payment and Insurance:
Fees are $150/session ($175 for couples/families and initial assessment). I accept BCBS Massachusetts, Tufts (Commercial only), Health New England, Optum, Mass General Brigham, and UnitedHealthcare insurances. If you have a different insurance with a PPO plan, I can also provide services as an Out of Network provider. In this case, you pay out of pocket and I would provide you with a Superbill (receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement according to your plan. For self-pay clients, I accept cash or credit cards.
